Art, Classes, and Special Offers
As the season shifts, Potekglass continues to inspire creativity with exciting projects, upcoming classes, and an exclusive Labor Day Sale! This September, we are diving into the world of glass marbles, showcasing the work of renowned artist Josiah McElheny, and offering fantastic savings on glass supplies and classes. Join us for a month of artistic exploration!
Art in the Shop: Making Marbles
Marbles are an essential part of the Potekglass repertoire, with each one crafted meticulously to create stunning patterns and colors. The spherical shape of marbles presents a unique challenge during the fabrication process, which is why each marble is a work of art. Currently, Potekglass is working on a custom commission for marbles, showcasing our dedication to detail and craftsmanship.
Artist in the World: Josiah McElheny
Josiah McElheny is known for his striking multimedia works that incorporate glass and mirrors. His art often features blown glass, mirrors, and repetition to explore themes of interconnectedness and perception. His A Twilight Labyrinth and Moon Mirror pieces reflect his ability to blend the beauty of glass with thought-provoking concepts on time, reflection, and infinity. McElheny’s works invite viewers to examine how repetition can alter their perception of the world around them.
