Embark on an unforgettable field trip experience with us. Explore the captivating world of glass artistry alongside local artist Malcom Potek, boasting over 30 years of expertise. Our studio offers engaging programs for all ages, covering craftsmanship, geometry, and focus. From educational endeavors to architectural elements and fine art exploration, Potekglass Studio promises an enriching journey for every visitor.
Teir 1 includes:
APPROXIMATELY 1.5-2 HOURS
- Hot glass demos
- Torch practice for each participant
- Studio tour
- Student participation and small glass "gem" keepsake
1–25 = $350
Tier 2 includes:
APPROXIMATELY 2-2.5 HOURS
- Full tour and torchwork listed above
- Additional demonstration in fusing glass
- Students create fused glass cabachons
- Setting and firing kiln for student projects
Tier 1 base ($350) price plus:
- 1–12 = $14 per head
- 13–25 = $13 per head
Tier 3 includes:
APPROXIMATELY 3 HOURS
- Based on our fundamental skills class, students will complete a catchall dish measuring 5"x5".
- Introduction to glass as a material
- Instruction on pattern making, glass cutting, and tools, small glass torch operation, and shop safety.
- Group will work as a team to cut colors, determine patterns and embellish according to personal taste.

- 13–25 = $47.50 per head
Tier 4 includes:
APPROXIMATELY 3 HOURS
This hybrid experience is the best introduction to both the torch and kiln worlds. In this unique offering, participants will engage in a blend of torchwork and kiln fusion, gaining a basic understanding of both mediums and the distinct magic that occurs when they come together. Like Tier 3, students will each complete a 5 x 5 catchall dish but have the added fun of embellishing it with elements created on the torch!
