Art, Classes, and Festive Markets

As we approach the final months of 2021, Potekglass continues to offer engaging art, exciting classes, and unique glasswork for the community. This November, we’re showcasing the "All Paths Lead to the Edge" cast glass series, spotlighting the mesmerizing work of artist Ian Chadwick, and offering a variety of seasonal classes like snowflake and icicle ornaments. Plus, join us at the European Christmas Market in St. Paul for a festive shopping experience!

Art in the Shop: All Paths Lead to the Edge
Our latest project, All Paths Lead to the Edge, is a cast glass series consisting of 20 trivets. Crafted using fine blue frit, each trivet features a custom blend of 1406 Transparent Steel Blue, 1140 Transparent Aventurine Blue, and hand-milled white frits. The smooth flow of colors creates a beautiful and serene pattern, symbolizing the journey that life takes us on—each path leading us to different experiences and edges of discovery.

Artist in the World: Ian Chadwick
Ian Chadwick, a talented glass artist from England, is known for his optical art and intricate patterns. Working primarily with kiln-formed glass, Chadwick employs mosaic techniques to create mesmerizing kaleidoscopic patterns that symbolize the interconnectedness of the world. His work is inspired by sacred geometry and traditional pattern-making, and he uses Bullseye glass to bring his designs to life. Chadwick’s stunning glass mosaics are a visual exploration of time, space, and perception.
