Summer Glass Camp, New Work, and Exciting Events
This summer at Potekglass, we’re ready to help you dive into the world of glass art with exciting workshops, a Glass Menagerie - Turtle Try-iT!, and our week-long Summer Glass Camp for middle schoolers. Our studio is buzzing with activity, from local artist Malcom Potek’s new series of works inspired by numerology to special events like AAW, this weekend’s Come pARTy with Us! celebration.
New Work by Malcom Potek
Malcom is producing a new series of works titled "#9", marking the first in a 12-piece collection inspired by numerology. These pieces will delve into the relationships between numbers and creativity. Malcom is happy to make appointments to show his work—contact us to schedule a private viewing.
Art in the World: David Ruth
David Ruth has been creating large-scale sculptures through glass casting for over 30 years, blending rough textures with polished surfaces and dynamic colors. His latest project involves creating texture molds from glacial ice and stone in Antarctica, further pushing the boundaries of glass art. Ruth’s work is featured in renowned galleries like Traver Gallery and the Joyce Gordon Gallery. Learn more about his inspiring art at David Ruth's website.
Summer Glass Camp for Middle Schoolers (Grades 6-9):
If you're looking for a fun and educational summer activity for your child, our Summer Glass Camp is the perfect opportunity. Running from July 9-13, the camp offers a hands-on introduction to glass art, where students will explore the exciting medium of glass while learning about fire, color, science, and creativity. No experience is necessary—just bring an eagerness to create! Students will work with clay, experiment with hot and cold glass, and develop new skills. Malcom Potek will be guiding the camp with his years of experience in the field.
