Subjects in a Landscape, John Sharvin, and New Classes
Spring is around the corner at Potekglass! In this month’s newsletter, we highlight our new class offerings, feature the inspiring work of John Sharvin, and showcase our new "Subjects in a Landscape" glass pieces. Plus, don’t miss out on the special deals in the shop this month!
Art in the Shop: Subjects in a Landscape
We are excited to present Subjects in a Landscape, a series of 5 small dishes created by Malcom Potek. These dishes capture the first glimpse of spring color as the snow begins to melt, a reminder of nature’s delicate beauty. Each piece is a celebration of new beginnings, perfect for adding a touch of warmth to your home. Visit the shop to see the full collection!
Artist in the World: John Sharvin
John Sharvin’s art explores the separation between reality and imagination, creating miniature glass landscapes that invite the viewer into a dreamlike world. His work often combines glass sculpture and mixed media to evoke nostalgia and emotional depth. One of his notable works, "The Escape" (2017), merges fused glass with multimedia elements to create a contemplative narrative. John’s "Scenic Overlook" (2019) and "Pathways" (2023) are perfect examples of his ability to combine intricate detail with thought-provoking themes. Learn more about John’s work and find inspiration from his innovative approach to glass.
