Custom Glass, Classes, and Artistic Inspirations

As we usher in the new year, Potekglass continues to offer creative glass art projects, exciting classes, and community engagement. This January, we are featuring a new commissioned work and looking forward to continuing the glass-making journey with both new and seasoned artists.

Art in the Shop: NZB Attorneys at Law – "Bright Moments for Pangea"
This new commission, created for Nancy Zalusky Berg, reflects the interconnectedness of her global practice, particularly her work with high-conflict cases involving children. Through light and glass, the piece symbolizes movement, unity, and her passionate commitment to making the world a better place. Nancy's values and vision come to life in this abstract artwork that captures the complexities of her mission.

Art in the World: Preston Singletary – Rethinking Tradition
Renowned glass artist Preston Singletary combines Tlingit tradition with modern glass design. His "Tlingit Dancing Staff" sculpture, which features iconic symbols of Tlingit culture—the raven and the wolf—explores the intersection of ancestral beliefs and contemporary artistic expression. Additionally, Singletary’s Mosquito piece, part of the Confluence exhibition, uses glass to reinterpret indigenous culture through bold, intricate designs. His work continues to redefine what indigenous art can be.
