Art in the Shop: Flag Tiles
Our Flag Tiles collection features fused glass artwork of iconic Scandinavian flags: Sweden, Norway, Iceland, and Denmark. Each tile, measuring 10" x 3.5", is hand-cut by Malcom Potek and comes with wall mounting hooks. These vibrant, colorful tiles are a great addition to any home or office space. Artist in the World: Carey Dean
Carey Dean, a Minnesota-based artist, is celebrated for her unique stained glass mosaics that capture the essence of nature and the human experience. Influenced by the Japanese practice of "forest bathing," her work evokes the calming and restorative effects of nature through vibrant, detailed mosaics. Dean’s pieces have been installed in public spaces like airports, hospitals, and hotels, adding warmth and tranquility to environments. Her works "On the Edge of Greatness" and "The End Is Only the Beginning" can be found at MSP International Airport.

Start your kiln-fusing journey with this 3-hour class! Learn how to create beautiful glass mosaics and slumped dishes. No experience or supplies needed, and this class certifies you for Kiln Open Studio Sessions and Free Glass Fridays.

Try-iT! Italian Soft Glass Beadmaking
Saturday, March 18th
Time: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Cost: $95 (non-members), $69 (members)
Discover the art of making colorful beads with Italian soft glass. This hands-on class introduces you to beadmaking techniques using a torch. Expect to create anywhere from 6 to 12 beads. Class cost covers all materials, and certification is provided for Torch Open Studio Sessions.

Try-iT! Basics from Boron
Saturday, March 25th
Time: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Cost: $95 (non-members), $69 (members)
Explore the sculptural potential of Borosilicate glass, the scientific glass favored by artists. In this class, you’ll gather molten glass to create beautiful ornaments and small figures. No experience needed, and you’ll be certified for Torch Open Studio Sessions.

Cracking the Kiln Code: Fusing and Slumping
Starts Saturday, February 11th
Time: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM (4-week course)
Cost: $175 (non-members), $157.50 (members)
This 4-week survey course will teach you everything you need to know about kiln-forming, from tack-firing to mold-making and testing kiln hot spots. This class is certifying for Kiln Open Studio and Free Glass Fridays. Glass and supplies additional.

Open Studio: Mosaic Meetup
Last Wednesday of the Month
Time: 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Cost: $35 (non-members), $25 (members)
Join the monthly Mosaic Meetup at Potekglass and work on your own mosaic projects in a relaxed, creative environment. This session is led by Sushila Anderson from the Minnesota Mosaic Guild, who will guide you through the theme of "MASK" for this month's challenge. Space is limited, so be sure to reserve your seat!
