Updates: New Hours, Supplies, and Staff!
Starting May 1st, we are excited to announce that Potekglass will be selling stained glass supplies and materials! We are also pleased to welcome Mark Trease to the team. Mark brings over 15 years of stained glass construction, repair, and teaching experience, and we're thrilled to have him on board.

We’re also extending our hours to serve you better, so check out the updated schedule below!

New Hours Starting May 1st:

  • Sunday/Monday: Closed
  • Tuesday/Wednesday: 10 AM – 5 PM
  • Thursday: 10 AM – 8 PM
  • Friday: 10 AM – 5 PM
  • Saturday: 10 AM – 3 PM

Art in the Shop: Willow Woods
This month, Malcom continues his landscape series with Willow Woods. An abstract exploration inspired by nature, this piece is a step forward in his commitment to working with natural settings. Stay tuned for more from this evolving series!

Artist in the World: Douglas Hamilton
Douglas Hamilton (1895–1959), a renowned Scottish stained glass artist, is known for his depictions of church windows, war memorials, and themes of Gaelic legends. His secular work, such as Shipbuilding Vignette and Quarryman with a Housewife and an Engineer, reflects the industrial and contemporary life of the time and continues to influence stained glass artists worldwide.

  • Blowing Boro Basics (April 30th)
    Time: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
    Cost: $95 (non-members) / $88.50 (members)
    Learn the sculptural potential of durable Borosilicate glass. This class will introduce you to the basics of glassblowing, where you’ll learn to pull points, make tapered spheres, and sculpt bowls.

  • Kiln Try-iT! (April 16th)
    Time: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
    Cost: $95 (non-members) / $69 (members)
    Dive into kiln-forming with this introductory class. You’ll learn to cut patterns out of sheet glass, make frit, and combine various glass formats to create a glass ring dish.

  • Italian Soft Glass Try-iT! (April 23rd)
    Time: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
    Cost: $95 (non-members) / $69 (members)
    Discover how to mold and shape Italian soft glass Effetre to make beautiful beads. This class will teach surface decoration techniques to enhance your beads.

  • Basics from Boron Try-iT! (April 30th)
    Time: 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM
    Cost: $95 (non-members) / $69 (members)
    Explore torchwork basics and create small projects like paperweights and icicle ornaments in this hands-on class using Borosilicate glass.

  • Free Glass Fridays – Torch & Kiln (Every Friday in April)
    Time: 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
    Cost: $35 (non-members) / $25 (members)
    Work on your own projects with free glass provided. Choose from Italian soft glass, borosilicate glass, or Bullseye glass for torch sessions.

Retail in the Shop: Autumn Streamers
Potekglass is excited to introduce 4111-00 Autumn, a beautiful sheet glass featuring orange, yellow, and red fractures with streamers on clear. Check it out in-store or online and bring some color to your next project!
