Potekglass offers a variety of options for students to become proficient in kiln-forming.
- Kilns can be rented! Schedule a session when it is convenient for you by filling out the form.

Schedule a Kiln Rental
Includes digital programming up to 48 hrs, kiln shelves and advice. Kiln projects must be "charge ready".
Students are required to have kiln paper under their project when working with a kiln. You can purchase your kiln paper in the shop, or ahead of time. Additional refractories are available upon request.

Second Saturdays from 1:30pm - 5:30pm

4 hours on our equipment with a set of student tools, table workspace and quarter shelf portion of 24" round kiln to fire your projects. Kiln paper is required for firing projects. Fire paper can be bought online here or at the studio.
Fusing Firing Schedule:
Step 1: 4 hour ramp to 1500, 15 minute hold
Step 2: Drop to 960, 1 hour 30 minute hold
Step 3: 3 hours 30 minute drop to 700
Step 4: Kiln Off
Want your project slumped into one of our molds. No problem. A slumping fee of $25 will allow our staff to set up and fire your project after fusing is complete.
Also available at Open Kiln: Bullseye fusible system glass for purchase. A wide color palette and variety of sheet, rod and frit glass are available for purchase in the 106 space.
Need more kiln space?
$50 to upgrade to a full 24" round shelf (24"x24")
$40 to upgrade to a 1/2 shelf (11"x24")
Upgrades available at Open Kiln session.
All projects fired in the Open Kiln session must be picked up within two weeks of the session. You can choose to have them shipped to you for a shipping and handling fee contingent upon the size of your projects.
Open Kiln Registration Policy
All registrations for Open Kiln are non-refundable and non-transferrable.

Kiln Shop Policies
All glass must be COE 90 unless written permissions have been given.
All glass projects need to be lined with Kiln Paper – available for purchase at Potekglass.
Students aged 9 to 13 must be accompanied by a participating parent or guardian.
Students aged 14 - 17 must have a release form signed by a parent or guardian.
All students must fill out, or have a release form on file to participate in any practice sessions.
Students must wear closed-toe shoes.
Students must have long hair tied back behind their heads.
All projects must be picked up 7 days from end of fire date.
