A series of 5 small dishes push out the small joy of the first spring color as the snow begins to melt. Come into the shop and see the work!

Artist in the World: John Sharvin

John Sharvin’s work explores the separation between the reality and the imaginary through the use of miniatures and glass sculpture. Creating these miniature landscapes draws the viewer into a new and intimate realm, reminiscent of a shadowbox. These dreamlike and often nostalgic worlds create deceptive memories and locations for the viewer to reflect on.

I first learned of John Sharvins work through the podcast "Talking out your glass" . I am drawn to his ability to create emotions that are both universal and very specific. "The Escape" is a great example of something that looks sharp, light but compresses the viewer into a monumental task.
